From when our newborn was just two weeks, we enlisted the help of a postpartum doula from Helping Hands. Rey is incredibly experienced and hands on which helped ease some of the fears and unknowns of a first-time mother. Her genuinely caring personality is just the right type of warm and fuzzy support a new mother need. I am very grateful that such postpartum services exist and I can say I have become a better mother with the support of our doula from helping Hands

My husband and I don’t have family in the area and were nervous about our son’s reaction to introducing a second child into our family. Rey knew that this was important to us and really supported our *whole family*, giving my husband and I ideas about how to help us with our son’s need for extra attention, providing bottle feeding tutorials to my husband, and giving me some space to spend quality time with my son. In short, we’re so happy that Rey was there to support us during this special (and hectic) time for our family. New babies and family transitions are hard, but having Rey made it so much easier.”

Our daughter had medical complications following her birth which led to a lot of uncertainty and anxiety. Rey not only helped us navigate the territory of being new parents but also showed a huge amount of compassion and provided emotional support for us as we processed our situation. From her first day I felt totally at home with Rey and that was a priceless feeling during such a vulnerable time. Having her as part of our team was an amazing experience and I highly recommended her

Helping hands doula was the best thing me and my partner made during her pregnancy. We meet Rey at the baby show and from the first second felt at home. When we met Rey, we felt that connection right away. This was our first child and we haven’t a clue what we were doing but Rey made us feel at ease from day one.

Rey is a wonderful, caring and incredibly knowledgeable person. I’m so fortunate that I found her and that she was available to come help this first-time mum. When Rey first came, I was struggling to breastfeed my little bub and was desperate for some help around the house. she came with a supportive and non-judgmental attitude, and she helped answer so many of my questions while listening carefully to all of my concerns. I can honestly say I would not be breastfeeding today, and would not have met my personal breastfeeding goals, without Rey’s support and assistance.

Rey was a huge support in our first few days as first-time parents. She helped greatly with tips on how to breastfeed more effectively and was very knowledgeable about the proper nutrition needed to keep up milk supply. Her gentle and calming nature helped ease our anxieties and we felt extremely comfortable leaving our son in her care while we were able get a few hours rest.
